Precision Corner Offset (PCO) — 90° Corner Location Jig for Land Surveying
Locate any 90° corner that needs surveying — building corners, structural tie-in points, masonry walls, foundations, bridges, and piles — from a fixed, repeatable offset.
If a crew can't get a clean shot on a corner, the Precision Corner Offset gives them an accurate, repeatable position and angle from a known offset. It was born on a job locating thousands of batter and plumb piles, where Dan Shields built two metal prototypes to do it at a 3″×3″ offset. This is the production version — refined, lighter, and now with selectable offsets — and the same method works on homes, garages, shops, bridges, and heavy-civil structures alike.
Attach your mini-prism to the top of the ribbed grab handle, seat the corner in the machined 90° aluminum pocket, and store the point. Because the offset is a known, machined geometry, the true corner position and angle back out cleanly — every time, across every crew.
Why crews use it
- Locates any surveyed 90° corner — buildings, structures, walls, foundations, bridges, and piles — from one repeatable setup: position, plumbness, and batter angle.
- Selectable 1″×1″, 2″×2″, or 3″×3″ offset to clear obstructions or match your workflow.
- High-strength ASA frame and ribbed grab handle; 6061-T6 aluminum corner plates that hold their geometry in the field.
- Your standard mini-prism mounts right on top — 5/8-11 thread, no proprietary target required.
- Engineered and manufactured in the USA, engineer-direct.
